Panda Express Adding Murfreesboro Location in New Shopping Center

Fried rice, fortune cookies, and orange chicken is in the forecast for Murfreesboro's near future.

According to recent permits, the fast-casual Chinese empire Panda Express is opening a new location in Murfreesboro at 2901 S. Church Street near the newly constructed grocery store Kroger and a Jersey Mike’s sandwich shop.

It’s unknown when the exact grand opening will be for this location, however, it’s expected to be soon given the construction of the site has progressed quickly. Customers may see doors open as soon as August or September.

Most well-known for its Orange Chicken, Panda Express offers a wide variety of affordable and authentic Asian-American inspired dishes, such as Honey Walnut Shrimp, Black Pepper Angus Steak, egg rolls, lo mein noodles, and fried rice. Guests have the option to customize their order with build-your-own bowls and plates.

Panda Express got its start in 1983 in Glendale, California, by husband and wife team Andrew and Peggy Cherng. There are currently over 2,300 locations internationally, with 46 of those in the state of Tennessee.

According to the parent company Panda Restaurant Group’s website, Panda Express is the largest family-owned and operated Asian dining concept in America.
