Brooklyn Italian restaurant Pelato is expanding its presence to Franklin, according to a recent Instagram announcement. The spot will open at 1914 Galleria Blvd., featuring a 9,000-square-foot restaurant and a 2,000-square-foot enclosed patio, according to Nashville Business Journal. The Pelato website lists the Franklin location as opening in early 2026.
The first location opened in Germantown in 2023, serving small shareable plates such as seasonal burrata crostini, crispy cauliflower piccata, pastas, creamy polenta with bolognese sauce, fried calamari and chicken parmigiana.
“At Pelato, we embrace the richness of Italian culture, infused with the unmistakable spirit of Brooklyn. It’s not just a motto; it’s in our DNA,” the website states. “Our family’s passion for traditional Brooklyn Italian cuisine breaks through into every detail at Pelato, from Mama Theresa’s Potato Croquettes to the San Genaro Zeppoles served in a paper bag! For us it’s more than a way of life — it’s our authentic identity.”
Pelato also has a location in Charleston.
Anthony Scotto Jr. and Theresa Scotto are behind the concept, as well as Italian restaurant Luogo, which opened in 2022.
