According to recent building permits, an unnamed wine cafe is coming to 2317 12th Ave S. from the team at Turnbridge Equities, a New York-based real estate investment and development firm. Turnbridge Equities owns the property, and is also developing a site next to the existing building called Ashwood 12 South, which will house future locations of Two Hands and Sushi-San. The building at 2317 12th Ave S. was last home to Taqueria Del Sol, which closed on June 30 after being in business for 10 years.
The mysterious wine cafe is confirmed to become Postino Wine Cafe’s first location in Tennessee. Though there is no confirmed opening date, a staff member of a Postino location in Atlanta, Georgia confirmed with What Now Nashville in a phone call that Postino will be coming to Music City, likely early 2024. The permit also notes that a construction point of contact is affiliated with Upward Projects, the parent company of Postino. A new exterior patio area will be included in the construction efforts, valued at $1.6 million, according to the permit.
The Phoenix-based wine cafe has locations in Arizona, California, Colorado, Texas, and Georgia. Along with Postino, the Upward Projects company oversees four other restaurant concepts; Joyride Tacos, Federal Pizza, Windsor, and Churn. Upward Projects was founded in 2009 by CEO Lauren Bailey.
Postino focuses on a modern approach to Italian-American comfort foods, such as paninis, bruschetta, meatballs, charcuterie, salads, and of course, a curated wine list with impressive happy hour offerings. Notably, a $25 bottle of wine and bruschetta board combo deal is offered every Monday and Tuesday after 8 p.m. at each location, as well as a daily happy hour special on beer and wine for $6 until 5 p.m.
What Now Nashville will share more about Postino’s newest location in Nashville as details emerge. Keep up to date with Postino on its website, Instagram, and Facebook pages.
Is this ever actually going to happen? This would be amazing!
