March marked the last month of service for Strategic Hospitality’s The Catbird Seat at 1711 Division St. in Midtown in light of a long-anticipated relocation to the Bill Voorhees Building at Paseo South Gulch, according to a recent Instagram announcement. Cocktail bar The Patterson House will remain open in Midtown through the end of April, though it will also be part of the move.
The relocation was first teased in the spring of last year but is now just moving forward toward completion.
Tasting menu restaurant The Catbird Seat operated in Midtown beginning in 2011. The Patterson House has been open since 2009, serving modern and classic cocktails alongside shareable snacks.
“After 14 incredible years in this intimate space, we’re excited to share that The Catbird Seat will soon relocate to the Bill Voorhees Building in Paseo South Gulch,” the Instagram announcement states. “Our new home, tucked atop the building with sweeping views of the city, opens the door to a new era, giving us the space and freedom to reimagine what we do with unbounded creativity and flexibility.”
The new space will be 8,028 square feet and will provide an opportunity for the team to update the interior look and to make the restaurant’s flow more efficient, according to the Nashville Business Journal.
Strategic Hospitality has been active on the Nashville food scene since its inception in 2006. Helmed by brothers Benjamin and Max Goldberg and chef Josh Habiger, Strategic Hospitality is involved in ventures including Merchants, The Band Box, Henrietta Red, Locust and Kisser. They are also partnering with Brian Lea and Leina Horii to bring a new Japanese-inspired bakery, Babychan, to the Neuhoff development this summer.
