Season Debuts Vegan Catering Service, Eyeing Permanent Location

The concept will use ingredients from local farms and aims to give back to community organizations.

A new seasonally-focused meal plan and catering service will officially debut its first menu on March 4th. Appropriately named Season, the business comes from a familiar face and veteran of the recently closed The Wild Cow in East Nashville, which shuttered its doors last December after 14 years.

Business partners John Wood and Ryan Toll will launch their fully vegan meal plan and catering service next week, with local delivery and pick-up from Hunter’s Station at 975 Main St. Though the business is beginning as a catering/pick-up and delivery-only brand, Toll says the team is interested in operating a full-service brick-and-mortar location in the future.

“Our goal is to make it easier for everyone to live a healthy, community-centered, plant-based life. We also are committed to working with other local farmers and businesses so our customers can have the freshest seasonal produce that Nashville can offer, as well as working with local organizations to donate a portion of our sales to the underfed community here in Nashville,” Toll told What Now Nashville.

When asked about the neighborhoods Season might consider for its first brick-and-mortar location, Toll said East Nashville, Germantown, or Downtown, though a timeline for expanding is likely a while away. The team will be doing events and pop-ups in the meantime to establish the brand and build a following.

“We’re really excited to get creative with the seasonal produce we source. Since we don’t have a set menu we get to come up with new and exciting offerings every week,” Toll said.

In terms of the food, Season’s menu will rotate according to what local farmers are producing each week. Some of the dishes customers can look forward to include grab-and-go breakfast items, sweet and savory snacks, sandwiches, wraps, and full entrees. 5% of sales will be donated to local organizations that help support the underfed, according to an Instagram post from Season.

For Season’s first menu, Toll gave us some insight into what he’s excited to offer.

“I’m really looking forward to hearing back from our customers on what items they really enjoyed from our first week’s menu, but I’m especially into our Roasted Veggie Masala Bowl, because I love a good spicy curry,” Toll added.
