California-based Dog Haus Biergarten has back-to-back locations lined up for the Greater Nashville area. On the heels of opening a spot in East Nashville this fall, franchise owner Michael Deak has a second location in the works for Franklin. Dog Haus will join the Canteen on Carothers development, taking a 2,500-square-foot space at 755 Crescent Centre Dr., Suite 3. Deak told What Now Nashville that he is targeting an early November opening.
“I’ve always wanted to own a business in Franklin. So when Canteen came available, it was kind of a perfect fit,” Deak said. “That one’s going to be pretty awesome to me because they have a little pavilion in the middle, so they’ll have live music and all types of different shows and stuff going on throughout throughout the week. And our patio sets up perfectly where you can sit and watch whatever’s going on.”
Deak is focusing on the patio experience for the Franklin location. The spot will feature a 700-square-foot patio, an indoor-outdoor patio with a garage door that opens and closes, fire pits, and games like shuffleboard and cornhole. There will also be plenty of TVs inside and outside for sports viewing.
There will also be design elements serving as nods to Franklin, such as a locally-inspired mural.
“I think it’s going be a cool little vibe out there in Franklin,” Deak said.
The menu will feature Dog Haus’s usual lineup of Nashville hot chicken sandwiches, wings, burgers, sausages, hot dogs and Hawaiian rolls, along with 24 craft beers on tap.
These initial two locations will not be the end of Dog Haus’s expansion in the area — Deak is already looking toward the future. He is hoping to secure a third location in Rutherford County. After that, he envisions bringing another three to five locations to Middle Tennessee.
