According to recently filed permits, a new Starbucks is coming to town. Located at 2015 8th Ave. S. near Zanies Comedy Club, the building was previously home to a business named 8th Avenue Antiques. Now scheduled to be demolished by the landlord, Starbucks intends to do a complete ground-up buildout for its newest location worth $650,000 complete with a drive-thru.

An exact opening timeline is unknown, but due to the construction needed for the full build-out, it’s likely to take a year or longer.

For being such a household name, Starbucks only has a handful of locations in Music City compared to other large metropolitan cities, and recently closed operations at four locations in the Nashville area earlier this year.

Noted on the permit, Phillip Jones of WD Partners will serve as the store designer, Edward Abram of Starbucks Coffee Co. will be the construction manager, and Christopher Doerschlag, CEO and owner of WD Partners, will be the architect of the project.

Starbucks officials did not immediately respond to request for comment from What Now Nashville. Stay tuned for additional updates on Starbucks’ website.
