According to a new business permit filed with the County Clerk’s office, Sumo Sushi Bar and Thai restaurant is slated to open in the Melrose neighborhood of Nashville with an address of 2407 8th Ave S #102a.
There’s currently no known grand opening date for the restaurant, however, it’s likely to open by summer of this year or later. Sumo Sushi Bar and Thai does not yet have a website or social media channels created due to still being early in the opening process.
The owner of the restaurant is listed on the permit as Tanupong “Ming” Pichidtammarat, who also owns Yoshi Sushi and Thai restaurant in Antioch. It’s expected that the new restaurant may offer similar dishes to Yoshi’s menu, which includes a variety of curries, Pad Thai, Drunken Noodles, Thai Pad Kra Pow, Lo-Mein Noodles, and fried rice dishes.
Sumo Sushi and Thai will neighbor other restaurants in the Melrose neighborhood such as M.L. Rose Craft Beer and Burgers, Mangia, Cilantro Mexican Grill, Biscuit Love, and Smiling Elephant.
“We serve only the freshest and finest ingredients. Our extraordinary fast and friendly wait staff wishes to make your visit to us an unforgettable event,” states the Yoshi Sushi and Thai website.
What Now Nashville reached out to Ming for comment but did not immediately hear back.
