Dirty soda franchise Swig has opened up shop in Brentwood at 5024 Harpeth Drive, bringing the popular Utah-based concept to Middle Tennessee for the first time. On the heels of an overwhelming level of support from the community during the Brentwood location’s soft opening, franchisee Mark Kunz told What Now Nashville that they have more coming soon.
Originally from Utah himself, Kunz and his wife partnered with his brother and his wife to bring the franchise to Middle Tennessee.
“Seeing its success [in Utah], it was very clear it’s going to be successful everywhere,” Kunz said.
Kunz and the team settled on the 2,000-square-foot Brentwood location for the first spot and after soft opening earlier this month, they have received long lines of Tennesseans eager to try Swig. Now, they are setting their sights on their second location in Spring Hill at 4821 Main St. That location, which will be 1,500 square feet, will offer a lobby and a drive-thru concept and is expected to have a grand opening in early spring.
The franchise is known for its menu of unique soda concoctions such as Life’s A Peach (Dr. Pepper, vanilla, peach and half & half), Dirty S.O.P. (Dr. Pepper, coconut and peach) and create-your-own dirty soda options.
“It’s the speed, the efficiency, but also the taste of it,” Kunz said. “Everybody loves it. I think it’s a simple, basic concept, but it works.”
Swig opened in 2010 and has since grown to more than 100 locations, with plans for rapid expansion. Kunz expects to eventually open 15 locations in Middle Tennessee.
“We just love Nashville. It’s been really incredible to see the amount of people who come and support Swig,” Kunz said. “It’s just been incredible, and not just the amount of customers, but their hospitality. Everyone has been so kind and patient with us.”
