The Kisser team has announced details on the concept they are bringing to the Neuhoff development in Germantown.

Babychan will be a Japanese-inspired daytime bakery and cafe concept slated to join the development this summer.

“Kisser turns two years old today, so it felt like a good time to announce that we will soon be opening our second location — a little gal named Babychan,” the Kisser team shared on Instagram this week. “Babychan is my childhood nickname, a phrase that mixes Japanese with English and roughly translates to ‘little baby.’

The spot is expected to serve shokupan (Japanese milk bread), curry pan, rice omelettes, onigiri and pastries. There will be a grab-and-go bakery and a coffee counter in addition to a full-service restaurant.

“We hope that you’ll give her a visit and say hello!” the announcement reads.

Brian Lea and Leina Horii are behind East Nashville restaurant Kisser, which opened in 2023. The restaurant serves Japanese cuisine including items like onigiri, beef tartare, chicken curry rice, spicy miso ramen and chicken katsu sandwiches.

Babychan will join other tenants at Neuhoff, including the recently opened Fishmonger, Close Company, E+Rose and Charmers & Cauponors.
