UPDATE (April 10, 2019): Gio’s Chicken Amalfitano Expanding To The Battery Atlanta
Feed Fried Chicken + Such is no longer operating out of The Battery Atlanta.
The restaurant’s last day open, at 900 Battery Ave SE #1040, was Sunday, December 30.
Marc Taft, the owner of Feed Fried Chicken’s parent company Southern Fried Hospitality, confirmed the news in an email to What Now Atlanta Thursday.
“As you know, the restaurant industry is very competitive, especially in oversaturated markets like Atlanta,” Taft emailed in a statement.
“We are proud of the Feed concept and have received very good feedback from our guests. Unfortunately, organic traffic is imperative for the success of any restaurant. Outside of baseball games, the traffic is much lighter at the Battery than expected.”
Taft in 2017 announced plans for at least two additional Feed Fried Chicken locations.
Those locations—in the Halcyon development and Peachtree Corners—are moving forward as planned, according to Taft.
Here’s the rest of his statement:
“In addition, a large part of the footprint of the Battery remains undeveloped and unleased. With the lack of brick and mortar retail locations and more tenants to draw people to the Battery, we just can’t support a restaurant with such high occupancy costs. We plan on focusing on our successful locations in Marietta and Alpharetta and continuing to serve the Atlanta community.”

I think Taft is making excuses. The food went downhill quickly after opening. Service went downhill. I wanted to like it. I did at first. I didn’t by the end.
