Baton Rouge restauranteur Chad Hughes plans to move his downtown Cajun-themed Boudreaux & Thibodeaux’s bar one block down to the first floor of a building he owns at 333 3rd St. The move would relocate the bar from a building owned by local attorney Danny McGlynn.

Currently, Boudreaux & Thibodeaux’s is a two-floor bar with an open balcony that often has live music on both floors. Although the drinks and live music are both major draws, the bar also scores rave reviews for its reasonably priced burgers and other comfort foods.

The upcoming location will be below City Bar, which is a sports bar and nightclub. Essentially, Boudreaux & Thibodeaux’s would offer a live music experience downstairs while City Bar would offer more of a club experience upstairs. According to recent posts on social media, Boudreaux & Thibodeaux’s is looking to staff up and maintain a more formal live music calendar ahead of the move. Hughes bought the building at 333 3rd Street in 2020. The last first-floor tenant was Rio Tacos and Tequila, which closed in 2022.
