Popular quick-service restaurant Whataburger is preparing to expand its presence in Acadiana, as ground was recently broken on a new location coming to Lafayette Parish. The new restaurant will be located in one of four commercial spaces set in a new 10,000-square-foot plaza in Youngsville at the intersection of Milton Avenue and Bonin Road. When it opens, the new Whataburger will be the fourth in Lafayette Parish after a third location recently opened in Opelousas.

Whataburger is currently in the midst of a major expansion across the South. The company recently announced plans for first-ever locations in the Tennessee cities of Chattanooga and Knoxville. The company was founded in Texas in 1950, and it has become known for its large, “two-handed” burgers.
