A neighborhood grocery store and café in the Spanish Town neighborhood of Baton Rouge is set to reopen after closing in October. The new Spanish Town Market and Cofé will feature a full espresso bar, house made pastries, specialty meats, and a large grab-and-go section. A representative told What Now New Orleans that the new ownership was offered an opportunity to take over from the former ownership, which had clashed with neighborhood residents.

“It’s a very proud community that is very capable of supporting (us),” the representative said.

The new market café will maintain daytime hours similar to the previous establishment, which was called Belli. It is tentatively scheduled to open in March, and ownership recommended following Spanish Town Market and Cofé on Instagram for the latest updates.
