When you’re running around and need a quick boost of caffeine, a drive-thru coffee stand looks like an oasis in the middle of the desert, and entrepreneur Christina Boutte is looking to build one of those oases in Lafayette.

According to a request filed with the Lafayette Zoning Board, She Brews IT will be a drive-thru coffee stand taking up residence in an irregular, polygon-shaped lot at the corner of Cameron and St. Louis streets. Located just outside of downtown, the drive-thru café is well-positioned to become a popular pit stop with commuters. The project is still in the permitting phase.

Although there aren’t many details on the shop just yet, a quick scan of the She Brews It Instagram profile suggests we should expect more than basic brews coming out of the drive-thru window. Expect colorful and artistic espresso drinks that add a lot more to your day than a shot of caffeine. Unfortunately, our inquiries for more details went unanswered. Boutte also runs BBL Family Enterprises, an organization that supports small businesses in Lafayette. During the pandemic, the organization sold custom face mask to keep people safe and stylish.

The proposed café comes just as downtown Lafayette is seeing a resurgence in interest and proposed development. In March, Developing Lafayette released details on a planned 208-unit residential complex for Downtown Lafayette located at the corner of Lee Avenue and Convent Street. There are also plans for a new brewery-pizzeria to move into a former Dat Dog space that has sat empty for many years.
