A new takeout spot offering three different types of comfort food is set to open in New Orleans East at 5741 Crowder Blvd in Suite 25.
Based in the Crystal Plaza in the former Peking House restaurant, Quick Munchies will offer Mexican, Chinese and soul food dishes ranging from about $10 to $13. According to a filing with the City of New Orleans, the menu options look like a greatest-hits list of munchies from each cuisine. The Mexican options include tacos, quesadillas, nachos and tortas. Chinese options include fried rice, lo mein, dumplings and General Tso chicken. Soul food options include po-boys, chicken wings, boudin balls and red beans and rice. Quick Munchies will also offer combination packs of each cuisine. For example, a Migo’s Box will include tacos, quesadilla slices and loaded nachos for $25.
The restaurant will be takeout only and will not offer alcohol. The surrounding area includes a number of other takeout-only options, but no other restaurant in the area offers the range of foods that are set to be available at Quick Munchies.
