Closed during the pandemic, a restaurant space in the Hyatt Regency Hotel at 601 Loyola St. is set to reopen as Rizzuto Prime, a steakhouse concept from local brother-restauranteurs Jack and Phil Rizzuto. The brothers currently own Rizzuto’s Ristorante & Chophouse in Lakeview, and the new steakhouse is slated to open in January. According to NOLA.com, the new restaurant will specialize in steaks, seafood, and classic Italian dishes. The new Rizzuto restaurant will reflect the one currently open in Lakeview but offer a slightly higher-end experience.

The restaurant space at the Hyatt Regency had been Borgne, which was a seafood restaurant opened by the former Besh Restaurant Group in 2012. The restaurant had been a popular option for Superdome crowds seeking a higher-end experience. Closed temporarily when the pandemic started in March 2020, Borgne closed for good in late 2021.
