Opened in 2008, Hoshun Restaurant at 1601 St. Charles Ave. is a popular Asian spot serving up Chinese, Japanese and Vietnamese classics. According to permit filings with the City of New Orleans, the restaurant’s owners plan to open a second restaurant at 1521 St. Charles Ave. They are looking to renovate the space and working with the city to address regulatory issues.

Located on the Saint Charles streetcar line and parade routes, Hoshun Restaurant fills an essential need in the area for classic Asian-American food. Menu items include sushi rolls, noodle dishes, and fired rice dishes. The planned new restaurant is just across Terpsichore Street and a few doors down from Hoshun. The property for the planned restaurant is much smaller than the one where Hoshun is currently located.
