It doesn’t get much more extra than the eye-popping Tacos Del Cartel location in downtown New Orleans, and yet, the owners are planning to add more to the restaurant. According to permits filed with the City of New Orleans, the modern Mexican restaurant will be adding more dining space and a small bar, along with additional kitchen and storage space. The expansion is slated to finish by the end of the year, according to city documents.
The relatively modest expansion comes as Tacos Del Cartel and its parent company VEHO Hospitality Group continue to unfurl ambitious growth plans. The original location in Metairie is currently being remodeled to better align it with the flagship location in New Orleans. A third location is poised to open soon in West Palm Beach, Fla. The owners have also said they plan on opening additional New Orleans locations.
