Metairie has some great options for Thai food, and it’s about to get a Thai fusion option when Yaya’s Thai Street Fusion restaurant opens as a permanent pop-up inside Brewsky’s Bar and Grill at 2205 David Dr.

Owner Chris Matise recently told What Now New Orleans that the restaurant will serve both classic Thai restaurant dishes and fusion items like fried shrimp and sliders. He added that all of the food will be prepared through the prism of Thai cooking techniques. “The two main cooks both trained in Thailand, and they’re excellent at what they do,” he said.

Bringing a Thai fusion pop-up will be a hard pivot for Brewsky’s. The bar had been serving classic bar fare, including pizzas, burgers, and chicken wings. That being said, some classic pub food will still be available and many people are familiar with the Thai food dishes that Yaya’s will serve, such as pad Thai and papaya salad.
