Known for serving sweet and savory treats influenced by the owners’ native Chinese cuisine, Wishing Town Bakery Café in Metairie is preparing to move around the corner to a bigger space at 3535 Severin Ave. In addition to being able to accommodate more guests, the new Wishing Town will add some new items. According to the official Wishing Town website, the most popular dishes at the Metairie location include traditional dim sum dishes and a Japanese-style cheesecake. In 2022, the restaurant opened a location in Uptown.

Wishing Town is preparing to vacate its current digs at 3327 Severn Ave. When it does, it is set to be replaced by OPPA Korean Fried Chicken, a current pop-up specializing in its namesake dish. The transition is expected to happen around the start of the New Year.
