Premium Coffee Machine Maker Nespresso to Lay Off 46 at New York Site

Nespresso will lay off employees at its New York City location next week, according to a WARN notice filed with the state.

Nespresso, a premium coffee brand owned by Nestlé, will lay off 46 employees next week, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) filing. The layoffs will impact workers at the company’s office in Manhattan.

Nespresso to Lay Off Employees Next Week

Nespresso filed a WARN notice with the New York State Department of Labor on January 13, 2026. The company will lay off employees at its office at 111 West 33rd Street, New York, NY 10120. The company did not provide any reason for the layoffs, which will take effect on April 13.

Nespresso is known for its single-serve espresso machines and coffee capsules. It is owned by Nestlé, a multinational food and beverage company. Nespresso provides espresso machines, coffee capsules, and operates its own boutique stores.

The company popularized the capsule-based espresso system designed for café-style coffee at home and in offices. Nespresso has continued to expand through online sales channels, boutique shops, and collaborations with leading retailers.

The firm uses coffee beans of superior quality from select coffee-growing regions around the world. Nespresso emphasizes responsible sourcing, capsule recycling, and climate initiatives aimed at reducing environmental impact.

Additionally, Nespresso works with coffee growers, non-profit organizations, and industry partners to support regenerative agricultural practices and contribute to the protection of ecosystems and the future of coffee cultivation.
