Two Companies File WARN Notices, Nearly 200 Jobs at Risk in New Jersey

Two companies have filed WARN notices signaling upcoming job cuts in New Jersey. The companies will lay off dozens of employees later this year. Under the WARN Act, employers are required to provide advance notice to affected workers.

Two New Jersey Companies Plan Dozens of Layoffs

According to a WARN filing, both the companies in New Jersey will be laying off their employees later this year. The companies include pharmaceutical firm Novartis and laboratory operator Labcorp in Raritan. Combined, the layoffs are expected to impact nearly 200 employees.

The WARN notices do not mention any union names or addresses, and employees may not have bumping rights. The notice gives the affected employees an advanced warning before the transition.

Novartis

Novartis is a pharmaceutical company in East Hanover, New Jersey. According to a report on March 30, 2026, by NJBIZ, the 114 roles that will be cut are part of an ongoing restructuring. The company has reduced its workforce by more than 1,000 roles since 2022 as part of ongoing restructuring.

Despite the continued job cuts, the company is also investing in its manufacturing, research, and technology. The upcoming layoffs will begin on June 26, 2026, and will end on November 27, 2026.

Labcorp Raritan

  • Number of Employees: 83

Life sciences company Labcorp has been performing diagnostic and laboratory operations in Raritan, New Jersey. The company plans to lay off dozens of employees but has not disclosed a reason. However, the layoff may be tied to internal changes.

According to a March 30, 2026, report by Country Herald NP, the affected employees may be eligible for state assistance programs. The layoffs will begin on July 3, 2026, and will end on July 17, 2026.

The two layoffs show the changes in the pharmaceutical and laboratory sectors in New Jersey.
