The famed French wine bar, Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels, is seeking to open a second outpost at 6 W 24th Street in Flatiron this year.

Considered a top wine spot in the city, Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels made its U.S. debut in Nolita in 2014 after its flagship opened in Paris two years prior. Its second outpost, unlike its Nolita location, will have a full kitchen and aims to offer 75 seats. Similar to its flagship, the second spot will specialize in U.S. and French wines. The Nolita spot is currently run by Chef Eric Bolyard. He initially was partnered with Caleb Ganzer, however Ganzer stepped away in 2021 after being arrested and charged with arson, criminal mischief and reckless endangerment for setting fire to the outdoor structures of Prince Street Pizza and Forsythia, according to the Times’ breaking coverage.

Ganzer has since stepped away from the bar, however he reportedly still holds a stake in the business. There is also a dispute about whether or not Ganzer has paid for the damages he was fined by the district attorney’s office, according to reporting from Eater.
