Fork and Cork LLC has proposed a 400-square-foot wine bar in the Upper East Side. A liquor license application filed with Community Board 8 indicates plans to build out a small evening café called Bar Vivant in the middle of the block between E 88th St. and Third Ave.

During a Street Life Committee meeting to review Bar Vivant’s application, co-owner and chef Anne O’Hare shared the café’s plans to operate as a classic wine bar with charcuterie and cheese pairings.

O’Hare did not immediately respond to What Now NY’s request for a comment.

In addition to being a co-owner of Bar Vivant, O’Hare is the owner of O CUISINE, a culinary studio and private dining space located in the same neighborhood. The business’ website cites O’Hare’s background working in Michelin-starred kitchens throughout France and the Basque Country.

The other co-owner of Bar Vivant is Enrique Lerma. Lerma is the owner of Alison, a restaurant in East Harlem that was recently listed among The New York Times’ readers’ 25 favorite restaurants.

The proposed hours of operation for Bar Vivant are 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Fridays, and weekends 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. There is no estimate at this time as to when Bar Vivant may open its doors.

Editor’s Note: [The original version of this article misspelled the name of the proposed wine bar. It is Bar Vivant, not Bar Vivent. Additional details have been added about co-owner Enrique Lerma.]
