A Latin steakhouse has opened its doors in Midtown Manhattan, bringing a refined twist to the flavors. Led by Christopher Loeffl, the restaurant aims to bring a memorable dining experience. It offers a wide range of food and beverage options to choose from.

Amasa, led by Christopher Loeffl, is a modern Latin steakhouse that has opened at the Kimpton Era Midtown New York. Located near Rockefeller Center, it comes from the hospitality group Apicii. It was opened in partnership with Extell Development.

The restaurant focuses on bold Latin flavors with a refined twist. Chef Loeffl offers a fresh take on Latin American cuisine from his experience working at Cimera and Cozobi. Its food, which highlights spices and cooking styles from Latin America, creates a unique dining experience.

Amasa features a wide range of options on its dinner menu. From raw bar dishes and appetizers to steaks, seafood, and desserts, there’s something for everyone. It sits below Bar Amasa, and pairs with a casual cantina serving tacos and cocktails.

Starters include Tuna Tiradito and Shrimp Aguachile, and appetizers like Papa Rellena and Lobster Tostada showcase regional influences. The real focus falls on premium steaks and chops, including churrasco, picanha, ribeye, and New York strip. These are served with sauces such as chimichurri and ají amarillo béarnaise.

The beverage menu features agave-based cocktails, including margaritas, palomas, and mezcal drinks. It offers creative options, like a dulce de leche espresso martini. Amasa serves non-alcoholic drinks and a curated wine list that includes selections from Argentina, Spain, Chile, and more.

SLCE Architects and INC Architecture & Design designed the space inside the restaurant. It blends warm, earthy tones with elegant details like mosaic flooring, jewel-toned seating, and more. These evoke the region’s natural landscape, elevating the experience.

Amasa also offers a semi-private dining room that is ideal for large parties and special occasions. Amasa opens Tuesday through Saturday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The Latin American flavors, premium cuts, and refined setting set Amasa apart on Manhattan’s culinary stage. It is set to become a notable new destination in the community with its vibrant flavors and elevated design.
