Miami-based Mediterranean chain Motek is heading to New York. It has plans to open its first location in the Flatiron District along Broadway this fall, according to a release.
This will be the first location for Motek outside of South Florida and the eighth location for the brand. Currently, there are locations in Coral Gables, Brickell, Downtown Miami, South Beach, Miami Beach, Aventura and Boca Raton.
The location in the Flatiron District will feature a warm atmosphere, their signature contemporary Mediterranean design and their fresh take on Eastern Mediterranean cuisine. Menu items include steak, kebabs, skewers, falafel, hummus and pita, and appetizers like babaganoush and spicy Greek feta.
“Motek was built on the cornerstone of family history and a deep love for quality-driven food. Inspired by traditional dishes from the Eastern Mediterranean, our kosher-style menu reflects a thoughtful blend of authenticity and innovation,” the Motek website states. “We focus not only on our culinary excellence but on creating a welcoming, warm environment distinguished by our signature sunshine-yellow branding and family-centered values.”
Husband-and-wife team Charlie and Tessa Levy launched the brand in downtown Miami in 2020. The brand has gained acclaim in Florida for its high-quality offerings.
“I spent 20 years in New York before Miami became home,” Charlie said in the release. “Miami is often called the sixth borough of New York, so it’s a natural next step for our brand to expand here. We’ve built a loyal clientele in Florida, and with so many requests to bring Motek to New York, it just made sense to take this leap now.”
Eventually, Motek has plans to open five locations in New York City.
