A new French wine bar and restaurant, Par Avion, will be coming to 456 West 23rd Street in Chelsea around mid August, owner Frank Iqbal confirms.

The atmosphere is described in their liquor license application as “an intimate French wine bar” with a soft vibe, lush and fragrant floral arrangements and ambient music. The menu will include a wide range of boutique red, white and rose wines, as well as charcuterie boards, classic dishes like tuna tartare and mac & cheese, cassolettes including hachis parmentier, oysters, and desserts including gâteau au chocolat and tarte au citron. Their liquor license application is up for review by Manhattan’s Community Board 4 this May.

It will have 12 tables with 45 seats inside and six tables with 24 seats outside on the sidewalk. Its hours will be from 3 p.m. to midnight on Monday-Tuesday, and 3 p.m. to 2 a.m. from Wednesday-Sunday.
