A new Korean restaurant is heading to the East Village at 325 E Fifth St. The spot will go in on the basement and ground floor of the five-floor mixed-use building at the location.

As of now, the yet-to-be-named concept is still in the early stages of development, said owner Jinan Choi. The menu has not been set yet, but it will be Korean-centered and focus on noodle dishes.

“It’s going to be very comfort [based] and reasonably priced,” Choi said.

Choi also owns Ariari, a Korean spot at 119 First Avenue that opened at the end of 2022. It serves seafood and Korean comfort dishes inspired by cuisine from Busan. Prior to opening that spot, Choi worked in the hospitality industry at restaurants like Her Name is Han.

The new spot is going into a space that was formerly occupied by an animal rescue center. It will have 12 tables and have capacity for 24 guests. There will also be one service bar on the ground floor.

Choi said he expects to open the new restaurant in spring 2025.
