Popular Mexican restaurant in Fayetteville, Papa Gallo, shut its doors on June 3 after 17 years in the business. The restaurant closed down after its lease expired, and new owners showed up to take over the space. A new Mexican-Peruvian restaurant will replace it.
Pita Gourmet
The original location of the Mediterranean restaurant chain, Pita Gourmet, closed on June 30. It was launched by the chain’s founder back in 2005. The owners had announced the plans to close the counter at Fashion Outlets of Niagara Falls and open a new location through social media.
Llama San
The critically acclaimed Japanese Peruvian restaurant, Llama San, closed down its location in Manhattan on June 7. It was opened about six years ago and was part of the restaurant group that includes Papa San in New York and Llama Inn locations in Brooklyn, London, and Madrid.
Modern Love
A popular vegan restaurant in Brooklyn had its last day on June 15, after serving the community for nine years. The restaurant had announced the closing date on an Instagram post. It had run a fundraising effort for the next venture.
Many restaurants in New York have been closing down since the beginning of the year, mostly due to financial struggles. Most restaurant owners simply find it not worth it to keep their establishments open.
