Saga Hospitality Group Plots Bakery, Daytime Restaurant For Refinery at Domino

Mixed-use will welcome the new concept in late 2024.

Refinery at Domino, a mixed-use space in Williamsburg, in late 2024 will welcome a new bakery and daytime restaurant from Saga Hospitality Group, the New York Business Journal is reporting.

Saga has secured a a 3,000 square-foot space on the development’s ground floor for what will be the hospitality group’s first Brooklyn outpost.

Chef Renata Ameni, Saga’s Executive Pastry Chef, is set to lead the charge of the yet-to-be-named concept, according to the report.

The bakery will serve a variety of baked goods — think viennoiserie, croissants, and cookies. On the daytime restaurant side of things the menu will offer guests quintessential lunch option like salads and sandwiches.

“I’ve been working in restaurant kitchens for years, and I’ve always dreamt of operating a proper bakery to serve pastries and ice creams,” Ameni said in a statement to the Business Journal. “It feels quite fitting that my sweets shop would be in what was once a Domino Sugar Factory.”

Reps for Saga o Friday did not immediately respond to What Now New York’s request for comment.

At the heart of James Kent’s Saga Hospitality Group is its namesake Saga, a two-starred Michelin restaurant on the 63rd floor of 70 Pine Street, an Art Deco tower in New York’s Financial District.
