Get those vocal chords warmed up, because a brand new karaoke bar is opening up in the east village.
St. Mark’s Karaoke was established in 2011 and served the community for nearly a decade before shutting down. Popular for birthday parties, corporate events, or just hanging out with friends, your favorite restaurant reporter may have even been known to belt a tune there from time to time. Sadly, the bar struggled to sustain itself during the pandemic as its business model became untenable in the age of social distancing, and permanently closed its doors by the end of 2020.
Now, it appears that a brand new karaoke bar will be taking over the space and transforming it into a new concept. Operating under the name JSG St. Mark’s Singing, JSG will be replacing St Mark’s Karaoke at 6 St. Mark’s Place.
The new karaoke bar will be operated by He Lin of Jiesheng Technologies. Lin previously operated the Master Grill & Global Buffet in Levittown before this. Open from 12:00 PM to 4:00 AM, JSG Singing will be an exciting new late-night hangout for a neighborhood hit so hard by the recent pandemic.
JSG recently received a full liquor license and will be serving an assortment of different cocktails, beer, and wine. Cocktails will run between $16-18 a drink, while bottle service is also offered – topping out at $300 for a bottle of Hennessey V.S.O.P. In addition to cocktails and liquor, JSQ will also serve light snacks alongside soups and noodles, ensuring that patrons can sing to their heart’s content without having to duck out for a quick snack.
