Ann Redding and Matt Danzer, the duo who opened Thai Diner in 2020, have a new takeout-only concept on the way to Nolita. They plan to open Mommy Pai’s later this summer at 203 Mott Street, with plans to serve Thai chicken fingers alongside tropical fruit drinks, according to reporting by Eater NY.

The brand first advertised itself as “coming soon” in September 2024 with an Instagram teaser post. However, the account has not shown any activity since then.

The space formerly housed a concept from the same team. Uncle Boons Sister shuttered at the address during the pandemic in 2020.

Redding and Danzer are known for their popular dishes at Thai Diner, also located along Mott Street. The menu features items like Drunken Dumplings (with chicken, lemongrass and tapioca), green curry clams, laab, panang neuh, a lobster omelette and Uncle Boon’s Khao Pat Puu. The spot also serves cocktails and wine.

Redding and Danzer have been behind plenty of concepts that have passed through the New York dining scene. Aside from Thai Diner, they have been behind Mr. Donahue’s in Nolita, which closed in 2017, and Uncle Boons, which shuttered during the pandemic.
