Sorry fellow introverts, a new bar and restaurant is currently making its way to Tribeca that promises to offer exciting new social experiences in a relaxing restaurant setting, but maybe it’s time to get out of our comfort zone!
Tribeca Social is a brand new restaurant and bar from owner Peter Rafano. Described as a modern, New American restaurant, Tribeca Social will offer all of the classic American fare you’ve come to expect. Partnering up with Food and Beverage manager Sergei Bezrukov, the two will craft delectable cocktails to accompany their dishes.
Moving into the vacant space at 6 Murray Street, Tribeca Social will be replacing Manhattan Proper, a luxurious bar and lounge that operated successfully in the neighborhood until the Covid-19 pandemic rendered their operation impossible. While the restaurant no longer has any locations in New York, it still maintains a couple of outposts in Washington DC.
Featuring a total of 1,584 square feet of space, Tribeca Social is expected to have enough tables to comfortably seat 58 guests. Established on the ground floor and basement of a mixed-use seven story building, the basement will be used for storage while the ground floor will be used for the restaurant, bar, and kitchen. While the bar was originally planned to close at 1:30 AM on weekdays and 2:00 AM on weekdays, concern from the community encouraged Peter to compromise with a 12:00 AM closure on weekdays and a 1:00 AM closure on Friday and Saturday. While Peter could not share further details about Tribeca Social’s design or menu, he is currently in the process of applying for a full liquor license and is expected to share more information once the license is secure.
