One of Chelsea’s greatest party spaces is coming back with a vengeance.
Formerly located in the Chelsea Market, Vault Manhattan was a popular wine bar and event space for enjoying cocktails and vintages from around the world. Founded by Michael Gancarz, Vault Manhattan was recognized by its vaulted brick interior and premium wine and liquor offerings. Popular for both standard bar service as well as hosting private events, Vault Manhattan teamed up with other vendors from Chelsea Market in order to provide guests with the ultimate New York experience.
Recently though, the space has remained silent for a few months, leaving fans curious about what was happening to their favorite bar. While the bar’s website makes no mention of closing, multiple google and yelp reviews reveal disappointed fans visiting and reporting that the location has closed. Now, though, fans can rest easy knowing that Vault Manhattan is simply moving to a new location across the block.
Formerly active at 410 West 16th Street, Vault Manhattan will be reopening about a block south at 60 Ninth Avenue. Occupying the cellar level, the new Vault Manhattan space will feature a maximum occupancy of 123 guests, including a 25-seat stand-up bar. Gancarz is currently proposing operating hours of 12:00 PM – 4:00 AM, seven days a week. The space is expected to feature both background and live music, as well as a jukebox. Available for reservation for private parties, Vault Manhattan has also indicated its intention to bring on DJs for various events.
