A new yet-to-be-named upscale wine bar is eyeing the space that formerly belonged to Socarrat Paella Bar at 259 West 19th St. in Chelsea, according to community board filings.

Longtime resident Babak Khorrami is behind the forthcoming concept. Khorrami formerly owned and operated Adella Wine Bar along West 43rd Street and The Harrow on 10th Avenue. Both restaurants are now closed.

The new wine bar is expected to feature eight tables that will seat 28 as well as one 12-seat bar. The space also offers a rear patio, which will offer four tables that will seat eight.

The menu will feature small plates alongside wine pairings. Expected menu items include mini lobster salad, steak tartare, deviled eggs, flatbreads and charcuterie.

The proposed hours of operation are 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. daily, with hours extended to 12 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.

As of now, an opening timeline remains unclear. What Now New York reached out to Khorrami for further details but could not obtain comment prior to the time of publication.
