Aesthetic Matters LLC has filed paperwork for a new yet-to-be-named concept at 235 Bowery.
Based on the filed paperwork, it appears the new concept will be part of the Oberon Group’s portfolio.
The Oberon Group builds community-focused projects in New York City and the Catskills, according to its website.
“Our organizing principle is sustainability: environmental and economic,” the Oberon Group website states. “We believe true hospitality and service considers the long-term impact of all our choices.”
Other hospitality concepts in the group’s portfolio include Purslane — the first carbon-neutral and zero-waste caterer — as well as Northern Italian restaurant Rucola in Brooklyn, a coffee shop and wine bar concept called Anaïs in Brooklyn, and June — Brooklyn’s first natural wine bar.
All of the Oberon Group’s concepts focus on sustainability. For example, June sources wines from places that use regenerative agriculture to minimize negative effects on the environment.
As of now, it is unclear when this new concept will open, and menu and design details for the concept are unknown at this time.
What Now New York has reached out to managing member Henry Rich for more information on the new concept. Stay tuned for updates.
