Sorry readers, but today’s story is top secret. I happen to belong to a secret club of elite influencers, and the privileged information I have on offer is specifically for Members Only. What’s that? How do you become a member? Well, it’s quite simple. All you need to do is buy a jacket…
Yes that’s right, Members Only, the iconic 1980’s fashion brand known for its legendary Members Only racing jacket, has been slowly gearing up for a massive revival. After having been traded through a few different hands throughout the decades, the brand is now owned by Ron Malhotra, and he’s got big plans for the iconic brand.
It’s no secret that we are living in the 80’s revival renaissance. Popular shows like Stranger Things and The Goldbergs have reignited a fire under young people yearning for the days of bouffant hair and neon outfits. It was only a matter of time before the legendary Members Only jacket would make a comeback, and Ron is making sure that New York is ready.
As part of this comeback, Ron is planning on opening up a Members Only gallery and retail space to celebrate the brand’s long and storied history. Moving into a vacant space at 53 West 8th Street, Ron will be operating his new gallery under a tavern license, expected to serve beer, wine, and a light food menu. The new Members Only gallery will not be operating a full kitchen and will only offer light snacks.
While Ron could not comment on the timeline for the gallery, it appears that it will offer about 1,554 square feet of space for patrons. Ron’s proposal includes a total of 20 tables that are capable of seating up to 59 people at one time. The gallery will also have its own bar, capable of seating a maximum of 7 people. Ultimately, the goal is to celebrate the influence of the Members Only brand and to generate a new level of excitement among New Yorkers.
