The Coastal Companies Recalled Various Products
The Coastal Companies is based in Laurel, Maryland, and manages the distribution of food on the East Coast. On May 22, 2025, the company ordered a recall of its 17 products. This was following the recall of cucumbers by Bedner Growers, Inc.
The different brands under The Coastal Companies used cucumbers grown by Bedner Growers and distributed by Fresh Start Produce Sales. As these cucumbers were linked to 26 medical cases of Salmonella infection, any product containing them must be discarded. The FDA also issued a public service notice for the recall by The Coastal Companies on May 27, 2025.
The recalled products were distributed by East Coast Fresh and Hearn Kirkwood in different areas of Maryland. Wholesalers, retailers, restaurants, and consumers are advised to discard the recalled products. Potential Salmonella in these products can lead to serious or fatal infection if consumed.
