Big Lots is gearing up for the next round of store reopenings in June. The discount retail chain, which filed for bankruptcy, has been reopening store locations across the country since April. With this round of reopenings, the brand continues its nationwide return.

Next Round of Big Lots Store Openings On the Horizon
Variety Wholesalers has announced its plans to open just short of 80 Big Lots locations on June 4. The company announced that it plans to celebrate the reopening across all the locations under its ownership in the fall of this year.
After the brand had filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in September, a total of 219 Big Lots locations were acquired by Variety Wholesalers through a deal with Gordon Brothers Retail Partners in January. It had also purchased the original branding rights for these stores.
The first phase of Big Lots’ reopening began in April, followed by the second at the beginning of May, and the third in mid-May. With the last phase slated for June, all the Big Lots locations owned by Variety Wholesalers will be back in operation.
