Caraluzzi’s Seafood Burgers Allergy Alert
According to reports from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Caraluzzi’s Bethel Market has recalled Italian-style seafood Burgers due to the presence of an undeclared egg allergen.
Those who are either sensitive to eggs or are allergic to the food product are vulnerable to life-threatening allergic reactions. As of now, one allergic reaction has been reported after consumption of 8oz Italian Style Seafood Burgers.
What Went Wrong with the Italian Style Seafood Burgers?
The supermarket giant recalled the food item after receiving an allergy complaint. After this, Caraluzzi’s Markets performed inspections. It was then found that its packaging had not shown the presence of eggs. As a result, it was decided to remove the mislabeled food item from sale.
Until now, 8oz Italian Style Seafood Burgers were sold from February 18 to April 2. Some of its selling locations are Bethel, Danbury, Connecticut, Wilton, and Newtown.
The impacted food item has an 8oz clear packaging and a blue overwrap label. The expiry date (01/16/2026) is mentioned on the back of the packaging of the Italian Style Seafood Burgers. It has a UPC of 0-95864-80008-8.
For those who have already bought the Italian Style Seafood Burgers, Caraluzzi’s Markets has asked them to return the food item and get a total refund.
