Frito-Lay has issued a recall of its Tostitos Cantina Traditional Yellow Corn Tortilla Chips after discovering that some bags may contain unlabeled allergens. The batch was contaminated with nacho cheese chips, resulting in an undeclared ingredient. The product contains milk and people allergic to it are advised to discard the packet immediately.

Frito-Lay Recalls Products For Unlisted Allergen
On March 26, 2025, Frito-Lay released a media statement on a limited product recall of Tostitos Cantina chips. Some of the product packages of this particular variety got contaminated with cheese nacho chips. Though the product is safe to consume for normal people, those with milk sensitivity or milk allergy should be highly cautious.
“A limited number of 13 oz. bags of Tostitos Cantina Traditional Yellow Corn Tortilla Chips are being recalled as they could include nacho cheese tortilla chips, and therefore may contain an undeclared milk allergen,” Frito-Lay wrote in its statement. “Less than 1,300 bags of impacted products were for sale in stores in 13 states (Ala., Fla., Ga., Ill., Ind., Ky., Miss., N.C., Ohio, S.C., Tenn., Va., W. As a cheese product got mixed with the Cantina-style tortilla chips, it became a matter of concern because of undeclared milk. The recalled product may lead to life-threatening allergic reactions in milk-sensitive people. On March 27, 2025, the FDA also released an update report on its website for public service.
The product has been available to consumers since March 7, 2025. As of now, no allergic reactions due to the recalled product have been reported. The Tostitos product packets of other sizes and flavors are safe to consume and are not recalled.

Frito-Lay recalled less than 1,300 13-ounce bags of Tostitos Cantina Traditional Yellow Corn Tortilla Chips from 13 states in the USA. The 13 states are Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia.
The size of the product that was recalled is 13 oz (368.5 grams), and the UPC number is 28400 52848. Other specifications that consumers can check include the manufacturing date of May 20, 2025.
Consumers who have this product with them can either throw it away or return it to the store from where they purchased it. As per the company’s claim, people with dairy allergies should not consume this product. For others, Tostitos Cantina Traditional Yellow Corn Tortilla Chips are safe to consume.
