The Surprising Impact of Michelin Stars

Michelin Stars are among the most prestigious honors in the global dining world. The awards highlight top-quality restaurants with one-, two-, and three-star ratings; the diners are recognized for their outstanding food, creative menu, and the skills and techniques of the chefs.

Michelin inspectors follow very strict and universal guidelines to judge the quality of the restaurants. The restaurants are required to pass all five criteria: quality of the ingredients used, cooking techniques, flavors, the chef’s innovative style, and the consistency of the food across the menu.

With these honors, Philadelphia and Boston have solidified their status as exciting food destinations, as the Northeast’s restaurant scene was celebrated with 2025 Michelin Stars.
