Due to popular demand, Taco Bell has reintroduced the Quesarito. This iconic snack became popular among fans for two reasons. One was its cheesy, indulgent flavor; the other was a coincidental overlap between a Quesarito commercial and the NBA Draft announcement of Nikola Jokić. Now, it is back on the menu for a limited time at select locations while supplies last.
Taco Bell’s Quesarito is Back
In response to years of customer demand, the Quesarito is coming back to Taco Bell menus across the country starting December 18. The comeback also relates to an internet moment that has long circulated where Nikola Jokić was announced as the 2014 NBA Draft pick, and it coincided with an advertisement for Taco Bell Quesarito. Jokić, a three-time MVP, has since become an unexpected part of the item’s online legacy despite never having tried it.
The Quesarito is made with seasoned beef, rice, chipotle sauce, reduced-fat sour cream, and stacked cheeses inside a grilled quesadilla. It was taken off regular menus, leading to constant calls to bring it back. The item remained in the mainstream discussion due to fan-led campaigns, tributes, and petitions.
Luis Restrepo, Chief Marketing Officer at Taco Bell, said that such continued interest helped to bring the Quesarito back in the holiday season. Renowned food bloggers like Snackolator also covered the comeback of this iconic snack.

The Quesarito is priced at $4.99. Taco Bell Rewards members will be able to get it for $1 through a limited promotion for the first 30,000 members during a special Tuesday Drop on December 23 at 2 p.m. PT – exclusively in the Taco Bell app. Members need to check if their nearby Taco Bell outlet is part of the participant locations list.
Taco Bell Embracing ‘Most Unexpected Draft Moment Ever’
An accidental coincidence in the 2014 NBA Draft became a lasting internet point of reference by both basketball and Taco Bell supporters. The video has resurfaced over the years, often appearing in social media posts and sports reels.
Taco Bell is taking the opportunity of that coincidence and asking Jokić to have his first taste of the Quesarito as part of the promotion. The brand has framed the move as a lighthearted acknowledgment of a moment that continues to resurface among fans of both basketball and the fast-food chain.
Upon inquiring about the revitalized interest, Jokić said that he would not be trying the Quesarito, adding that while he appreciated the apology, he would pass on the offer.
Taco Bell is an American fast-food chain that has offered tacos, burritos, and other Mexican-inspired items for more than 63 years. The brand has thousands of outlets across the country and has expanded internationally, with regular and limited-time menu items.
