National Shawarma Day on October 15 celebrates the popular street food, which originated in Turkey in the 18th century. Shawarma is traditionally prepared by slowly roasting thin slices of chicken or beef on a rotisserie, and then flavored with the use of Mediterranean herbs and spices, served in pita with various sauces and toppings.

Shawarma Press, the country’s first authentic, award-winning shawarma franchise, will offer $7 shawarmas all day on October 15 for National Shawarma Day. According to PRNewswire, the offer is for their regular $10.99 Chicken, Beef, Tandoori, Falafel, and Tex-Mex Press quick service shawarmas. Co-founder and CEO Sawsan Abublan said the deal is a way to thank regular customers and introduce new guests to authentic Mediterranean flavors.

“On National Shawarma Day, customers can enjoy traditional favorites such as the premium Beef or Chicken shawarmas or our signature fusion options such as the spicy Tandoori Press™ or Tex-Mex Press,” she said. “And for those who are not interested in wraps, shawarma can also be enjoyed as a delicious topper for salad, rice, and fries.”

Expansion of Shawarma Press and Menu Highlights

Shawarma Press was established in 2017 in Irving, Texas, and has since spread around the state, with its restaurants in Arlington, Denton, Frisco, Georgetown, Plano, and San Antonio. It has its flagship in the Dallas Arts District, a first Georgia restaurant was launched last year at Johns Creek, and a new digital kitchen was launched earlier this year in Midtown Atlanta.

Shawarma Press continues to grow its presence by blending traditional Mediterranean dishes with bold, inventive fusion options.

While shawarmas are the menu’s centerpiece, Shawarma Press also serves Mediterranean favorites like falafel, hummus, soups, salads, ice cream, and pastries.

New products include the Supreme Wrap, which is filled with three proteins and seven toppings, Spicy Lentil Soup, Spicy Hummus, and Spicy Garlic Sauce.

The brand also introduced a high-end dessert line, Impress’ La Desserts, under exclusive collaboration with popular Middle Eastern bakery Zalatimo Sweets, selling Assorted Traditional Baklava and Maamoul Cookies at selected locations.

Shawarma Press has been recognized as one of the Top 100 Movers & Shakers in the restaurant industry. The award-winning brand, also a multiple Stevie Award winner, is known for its rapid growth, innovative menu items, and bringing authentic Mediterranean flavors to diners nationwide.
