FreshRealm, a national fresh-meal producer, plans to close its Indianapolis factory. The company detailed the closure in a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) filing.
FreshRealm to Close Indianapolis Manufacturing Facility
FreshRealm is a fresh-meal solutions firm that collaborates with retailers and foodservice brands to create, manufacture, and distribute ready-to-cook and ready-to-eat meals. The company has a network of manufacturing plants in the country and targets the production of high-quality and convenience-based products.
The company issued a notice to employees to inform them about the upcoming closure and how it is planned. The facility located at 3120 Post Road, Indianapolis, will cease maximum operations on January 31, 2026, leading to the layoff of 148 employees.
About 20 employees will remain on staff through March 20 to assist with the full shutdown. The notice stated that employees will not be transferred to other facilities and will be eligible for severance if they complete their expected employment period.
Recently, the company has recalled numerous products following illness reports linked to items produced at its Indianapolis facility. The closure of the Indianapolis site represents a major shift in FreshRealm’s operations. Moving forward, the company plans to concentrate on stabilizing production at its remaining locations while maintaining a focus on food safety.
