Lay’s is beginning the year by putting a fresh twist on some of its most recognizable flavors. In January, the snack brand is expected to release a new series of flavor swaps, borrowing iconic seasonings from other popular Frito-Lay brands.
The limited-time offering aims to surprise longtime fans while leaning into the bold flavors consumers already recognize and love.
New Lay’s Flavor Swaps Coming This January
Flavor swaps have become a recurring strategy for Frito-Lay, allowing the company to refresh its portfolio without launching entirely new products. Such mashups are designed to catch shoppers’ attention on store shelves while encouraging them to rediscover familiar brands in unexpected ways.
According to Snackolator, Lay’s is also leaning into cross-brand mashups by blending the textures and flavors of Doritos, Ruffles, and Cheetos, reimagining familiar profiles across different chip styles.
Expected to be available in January, the three new flavor options will be:
- Cool Ranch Doritos Ruffles
- Ruffles Cheddar & Sour Cream Doritos
- Lay’s Sweet Southern Heat BBQ Cheetos

Lay’s is continuing to experiment with cross-brand innovation with flavor swaps on the way. With the January launch just around the corner, this step is expected to attract both the loyal customers and shoppers who would want to have a taste of something new in the snack aisle.
