The retailer is known for its streamlined, low-cost business model, the retailer focuses on efficiency, private-label products, and simplified store layouts to keep prices lower than traditional supermarkets.
On Christmas Eve, most stores will operate with reduced hours, commonly closing between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., though exact times differ by city. Shoppers are encouraged to visit well in advance and check their local store hours for Christmas Eve timings.
Other Major Retailer Closed on Christmas Day
Full-day closures have been announced by grocery, furniture, and big-box retailers, urging customers to plan for any necessary shopping. Here’s a quick look at the major retailers that will not be open on December 25, along with their Christmas Eve opening times.
- Ikea: All Ikea stores, locations, warehouses, deliveries, and customer services remain closed on Christmas Day. The brand usually posts special holiday hours on each location’s individual pages, so that people can check for their local stores.
- Target: On Christmas Eve, stores will be open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. Target stores will be closed Dec. 25, but guests can still shop on Target.com and the Target app. Customers can also order pickup at the store or opt for delivery after the holiday.
- Costco: Costco announced its holiday hours on social media. The stores will remain closed on Christmas Day. But on Christmas Eve, executive members can shop from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. while the doors are open for all members from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

- Sam’s Club: Sam’s Club is offering an extra shopping hour on Christmas Eve for its Plus Members, who can explore the aisles from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. For club members, store hours will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. All Sam’s Club locations will be closed on Christmas Day.
