Van Leeuwen Brings Dr. Seuss’s Playful World to Ice Cream Aisles

Known for its rich French-style scoops, Van Leeuwen Ice Cream has partnered with Dr. Seuss to introduce three new flavors for sweet lovers. The latest flavors are:

  • Swirly Whirly Blue Thing: Ice cream, swirled with blueberries and mixed with chunky honey cornbread.
  • Double Trouble Berry Thing: Another amazing flavor that combines the richness of strawberry and white chocolate. The ice cream is topped with chocolate chips.
  • Hats Off Sundae Swirl: Vanilla ice cream with bits of fudgy chocolate brownie pieces along with raspberry ribbons.

The flavors feature colorful, unique names and fun packaging inspired by the imaginative world of Dr. Seuss’s The Cat in the Hat.

The brands shared the announcement on social media with a playful message. “The Cat in the Hat heard you like choices. So he popped in. Then he made three,” the post read, adding that the flavors are “exclusive at @krogerco for a limited time—so maybe stock up like a responsible grown-up.”

Dr. Seuss Enterprises is a global children’s entertainment company. It manages and builds upon the creative legacy of Theodor Seuss Geisel, best known as Dr. Seuss.

Van Leeuwen’s Journey

Founded in 2008 in New York City, Van Leeuwen Ice Cream began its journey in a single yellow ice cream truck. Ben Van Leeuwen, Pete Van Leeuwen, and Laura O’Neill started the brand to serve simple, high-quality ice cream.

Over the years, the brand grew from a street cart into a well-known ice cream company and opened multiple scoop shops across the country. The brand’s products are widely available at major grocery stores. The brand is well known for using fresh milk, cream, eggs, and other ingredients. Along with dairy options, the brand also features vegan options.

The partnership reflects the brand’s playful approach to limited-edition flavors.
