Global icon Hello Kitty is joining Starbucks for a festive collection of playful holiday gifts. The Hello Kitty merchandise will be available at Starbucks coffeehouses across the US and Canada starting November 6.

In 1974, Hello Kitty was created by the Japanese company Sanrio and represents kawaii, the Japanese culture of cuteness.

The collaboration brings the warmth of the holidays with Hello Kitty’s iconic charm. The collection combines festive holiday traditions with Hello Kitty’s playful designs.

Talking about the partnership, Jill Koch, SVP Brand Management and Marketing at Sanrio Inc. shares, “For more than 50 years, Hello Kitty has resonated across cultures and generations. Her simple design, positive message, and timeless appeal invite people everywhere to express themselves and celebrate friendship, kindness, and inclusivity.”

Kap Pitarys, Director of U.S. Merchandise at Starbucks, said the collaboration reflects both brands’ focus on connection and nostalgia. Both brands focus on human connection, nostalgia, and uniting communities.

In the official release, Pitarys shared, “Starbucks and Hello Kitty have strong fandoms and deep roots in culture. Interestingly, both were born in the ’70s – Hello Kitty in 1974 and Starbucks in 1971. We’re excited to bring back that nostalgic vibe with this special collaboration this holiday season.”

The Starbucks x Hello Kitty collection includes everything from plush toys dressed in Starbucks green aprons to festive gift cards. The theme of the merchandise is ‘Together in Fun Forever.’
